We are looking for a senior developer for BigCommerce. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong knowledge of front-end technologies.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a broad technical skillset and extensive experience in BigCommerce. Responsibilities will include translation of the design to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. A solid understanding of UI/UX and analytics of traffic and engagement of the site is required.

As a result, the candidate should be able to develop and test the website required for the company´s needs. Moreover, the candidate should be able to work with other developers in determining BigCommerce development strategies.

Responsibilities

Develop and designing relevant code on project needs
Mentoring junior developers
Create test-driven environment for relevant projects
Develop new user-facing features
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Adhere to Web Standards for ADA compliance
Adhere to usability standards
Implement testing tools that monitor the ongoing performance of the company website
Integration of APPs/APIs to enhance BigCommerce storefront
Ensure that all future applications meet the latest technical requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor´s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science 4-6 years of industry experience
Technical depth across multiple languages
Able to meet deadlines
Leadership experience
Strong communications skills
Strong experience with CMS platforms, BigCommerce or familiar with Shopify, Magento or WordPress
REST API, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Node.js, Java, REACT and MySQL
Server-side CSS pre-processing platforms
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Experience with Responsive Web development
SEO best practice knowledge
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
